Apparel brand Wren + Glory increased their engagement by 86% by using Viddy’s in-platform A/B testing

With Viddy’s built in A/B testing platform, Wren + Glory was able to easily monitor the performance of the content test in our CMS and see how conversion, engagement, watch time, and other metrics differed based on the variants that their visitors saw.

Background & Brand Goals

Wren + Glory was started by 2 sisters Renee (Wren) and Gloria (Glory). Since their early childhood they had always been into fashion as a medium of expression. Unfortunately, they always struggled to find the exact styles they wanted and that matched their forms of expression.

Gloria had always been a skilled painter so decided to put her desired fashion style in her own hands. She did exactly this by hand-painting her first jacket. The response was overwhelmingly positive so the sisters decided to create a brand around it. Wren + Glory creates fashionable clothing that is designed to be unique and cool, while accessible at the same time. They are a made-to-order and female-owned business.

Using Viddy and Seeing Results

Wren + Glory had 2 initial ideas on how to use Viddy. The first was to showcase firsthand how their clothing garments are hand-painted by showing timelapse videos of this. The second was to showcase how their clothing fits on models for a 3-dimensional perspective that’s captured well on video. They knew they wanted to use Viddy’s Carousel, but didn’t know which of these 2 sets of video content to use first: the behind the scenes of the hand-painting or the inspiration outfit videos from special collections.

We advised them to A/B test the content by using Viddy’s in-platform A/B testing. This way they could measure the performance of the 2 different styles of video content and see which better resonated with their visitors from a conversion rate and time on site perspective.

What was exciting to see is that one set of content resulted in a statistically significant 86% increase in engagement on the site than the other. This test shows not only the power of A/B testing, but also how important the video content is. Brands should be experimenting with different sets of content to see which types of content work best. Wren + Glory also had UGC videos of different fit videos to show how people styled their clothing. They added ‘See The Fit’ sections on PDPs to showcase this. An example of what this looks like is below.
